I started taking adipex about two weeks ago.I could only take it for two days! It made me so sick! I was constantly vomiting. I had one of the worse migraines of my life that literally lasted 3days! I had dry mouth and severe jitters. I have read such wonderful reviews and am so surprised at my reaction to this drug.im wondering if my doctor prescribed a dose that’s too high.through my experience (as awful as it was ) I did lose. 6 lbs. I wasn’t able to eat for days even after taking it! Im considering starting again just taking half a pill.any suggestions or anyone else have such terrible side effects? ?

caity March 30, 2011 at 7:15 pm

Definitely start out with half a pill twice daily for the first couple of weeks. forth even a forth. When I first started taking it they told me to take half and so that I could get used to the side effects. I’ve been taking the regular dose for a couple months now and, other than drymouth, I barely notice the sideeffects.

Reply

Achen April 13, 2012 at 4:47 am

Ya take only half and see what happens. I couldn’t sleep at night but then I cut my afternoon dose down to half and it made all the difference I am able to sleep. I also make sure not to take it too late in the afternoon.

Sorry to hear of your bad experiences. Some people try it and are totally fine and feel great, where as others have these really harsh side effects. Everyone is different and unfortunately you don’t know which you will be until you have tried it…

Try Phentramin D instead. It works the same way as adipex does only they made it so that there are way less side effets. Sorry you had such a rough time with it.

Reply

sarah May 4, 2012 at 4:47 pm

I switched to phentramin D. It works just as well without half the side effects and it’s easier to get.

I started using Adipex 3 weeks ago and i have already lost 25 pounds.I eat alot of meat(grilled) and i also eat alot of hamburger steaks along with some salad, light or fat free dressing. All of my veggies i cook in olive oil instead of vegetable oil.I completely cut out all sodas and tea, anything with sugar and started drinking water with the sugar free drink mixes added.I walk almost everyday at least 2 miles and have started slowly jogging.I hope that this information helps someone else be as successful as myself in loosing that weight.

Losing 25 lbs in 3 weeks is extremly unhealthy. You have probably experiebnce extreme muscle breakdown from the drug. You should re-evaluate your sitation with adipex.

Ya I agree that is pretty rapid weight loss, but it also depends on how heavy she was to start. Someone up over 200 lbs losing 25 lbs in under a month with diet and exersize is totally normal!

That is great advice. I too cut out all fruit juice, soda, pop, and alcohol. I drink only water or tea w/out sugar. So far I have lost 15 lbs it’s been a month.

GETTING PAST THE 1ST WAS THE TOUGHEST. NOT REALLY THAT HUNGRY BUT I DO DRINK ALOT OF WATER AN I EXCERISE. I’VE LOST 16LBS. U CAN’T GIVE UP! I KNOW THAT FEELING OF BEING SICK WAS NO JOKE. BUT ANYTHING GOOD IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR! GOOD LUCK! BE BLESS!

I started taking adipex a week ago and never felt any different. No jitters, nothing. I actually started taking it at 1 am so if it did hype me up I could stay up with my twins, but I fall asleep quicker, I’d say..
I don’t think it’s working..

Reply

Achen April 13, 2012 at 4:52 am

Do you take it on an empty stomach or with food? Make sure you take it on empty stomach so you can feel the full effect. It works pretty fast for me.

It’s just a mild side effect. A lot of rxx drugs do that and it’s totally normal.. Just drink a lot of water.

Reply

carol December 23, 2010 at 7:08 am

@Ann my doctor told me that it makes him sleepy too. I took it for a very short while the beginning of this year and didn’t excercise or diet and lost 10 pounds. I am starting back and intend to excercise and diet this go round. I have alot of friends that have lost massive amounts of weight taking Adipex. I know a few who got the lipovite shots and b12 shots with it and lost even more.

I started taking it this week and have had headaches with it. But other than that I sorta have a dry mouth but I’m taking only half of it to get me started because sometimes I have weird side effects to anything higher than tylenol. But my headaches may also go with the fact that I’m trying to stop drinking dr peppers.

Hi Jessica,
Try taking the pill at a later time, like 8 am.
Make sure you are going to bed at a reasonable time.
Good Luck

Reply

s.verda April 13, 2012 at 10:47 pm

You are tired because you are waking up so early and then probably going to bed late. I would keep taking the first one at 6 am, but then take your second one at noon or sooner so it has a chance to wear off before night time.

I have a little one on the way and I am scared that if I don’t get my weight under control I will miss out on the daily activities with my soon to be son! I have been running at the YMCA now for about 4 months and have only lost 12 pounds and have seemed to stop losing. I need something to get me over the hump and help me reach my goal weight. I know I will not get back to my six pack but I want to lost around 30 pounds. I feel this pill will help me achieve this. I do feel jittery but no headaches. Any advice to help me achieve my goal? sounds like you are getting a tone of exersize. Make sure to cut out junk food, only put healthy things in your body like protien and vegetables and only the odd carbohydrate.

Emy February 23, 2011 at 5:43 pm

Yes. My Dr. prescribed the pills to me and said that I needed to decide which would be worse: being overweight & having other health issues develop; or taking the risk of the side effects of the pills and losing the weight which would improve my overall health. I think that losing the weight will bring my blood pressure back to normal & my chances of developing diabetes will decrease greatly. I’m up for the challenge of dealing with the risks and monitoring my bp.

Hi I start to take today to see how it works on me, i was previously taking Phentermine 37.5rebaje 25 pounds that was like 1 years backwards, but recovers again, I lose weight fast for my wedding is near, I would say that this pill has the same effects The doctor recommended I start with 1 / 2 of the tablet and continue, if you stop one day and start taking denuevo your body will return to have the same effect from the start because it is reacting the compound again, is turn the engines back as you turn on your car is hot all right, when the car is very cold and make sound delay is an example of how it works in our body take the 1 / 2 and will be less strong I do is start with the 1 / 2 of the tablet and the second took a whole day but I recommend you go down a bit and then start to keep leaving to take the pills because these drugs have long term effects .. good luck!

I started Adipex back in October of 2010 and lost 20 pounds in about 2 months. Then ThxGvng and Xmas rolled around and I went off the pill and ate like a horse and gained 10 of it back. I recently came to my senses and went back on it and this time at a higher doseage. I’ve lost the 10 pounds that I had regained, thank the lord. However, I found that the best plan is to eat small high protein meals every three hours. This fuels your metabolism continuously and you keep burning calories. I have not exercised at all.

I was told to take half a pill for a week and then start taking a whole pill after that. I’m a little nervous about starting them but because of health issues and possible future health issues I really need to lose 95 pounds, I do not want to die at a young age because of complications from my weight issues. I am 23 years old and weigh 295. I hope to lose atleast half of 95 pounds by August. Keep me in your prayers. Thanks

I’m a 30 year old female and weigh 253 lbs. I started taking adipex because I work out and eat right and I wasn’t seeing any results. I have been on it for about 2 weeks no side effects accept being irritable and short tempered from time to time. I am able to workout harder and longer and have more energy even after my work outs. I have noticed if you drink a lot of water through out the day it will keep you from having dry mouth. I take my pill every morning at 8am and 30 minutes later I eat breakfast. I’m excited to see how much weight I loose in two more weeks.

I am now 184. I am weening myself off of my Paxil and am hoping that I will be able to lose some weight as I have been working out an hour and half every day for the past 2 months.

I have been on Adipex for about 5 months and have lost about 23lbs without any exercise. I know that I should incorporate excercise but I have so much energy just walking around the mall or my house that I just havent started. I am starting next week because I have finished my classes. The biggest side effect that I have and am experiencing is bad breath and the feeling of the pill no longer working. I go off of the Adipex 4 days and go back on it for 7 days. It seems to be working again. My starting weight was 210 and I am now 186. I can be loosing more and faster, but wanted to take it slow. All of the side effects will go away after about a month. I had the headaches and the tremors and most of all the sleepless nights and would sleep all day. But is doing well now.

Tomorrow will be a week and I have lost……14 pounds. If I did not see it with my own eyes I would not believe it. I eat a very small breakfast, not even half my lunch, and a small dinner. I can not believe this is working. I am getting married soon and I would love to loose at least 20 more pounds. Please pray for me.
By the way, I am one of the blessed ones, I have had no side effects, I take my pill in the mornings by 7 am, and I sleep just fine at night.

To those of you who are indecisive about trying this product…..what do you have to loose, but the unwanted weight!

Good luck and God bless.

Just curious. For the comments of to jittery and the not working. I read that while on adipex or any phentermine you should not consume any caffeine at all. Has to do with the way your body metabolism the drug. For some it will increase jitters but as a result your brain gets ‘use’ to the drug and will no longer work. So do you all use caffeine or cut it out? Thanks!!

Don’t know if this will help anyone, but here’s my story… I began Adipex late last Sept. and lost 20 lbs, by Thanksgiving. I knew I could have lost more if I had reduced my carbs but I’m a carb-lover and would rather lose weight slowly than feel like I’m depriving myself. From Thanksgiving to New Years, I didn’t lose or gain any weight. I stopped taking it for the past couple months because I felt it stopped working and everything I read said that was very likely to happen. My weight has remained the same, because I stuck to the habits I had developed. I log my food every day, exercise 5-10 hours per week, etc. I just started back on it this week and feel it is working at its fullest again. I take 37.5mg/day: 1/2 at 2PM and 1/2 at 5PM (I go to sleep around midnight). I don’t have hunger issues in the morning so don’t take it in the morning. My challenges are at night. If I ever feel it’s going to affect my sleep, I take a 3mg melatonin. Works like a charm for a deep sleep and easy wake-up! The Adipex gives me dry-mouth, but that only encourages me to drink a lot of water, which only helps with feeling full, eating less, and losing weight.

I am 41 and on my second round of adipex, I lost 65 pounds the last go round 4 years ago. I am 41 and weigh 244 pounds. I am using a new doctor and his program starts you taking a half pill the first 10 days. First day when you wake up and then moving it up 30 minutes each day until you are taking it at 10 or 11 am. His philosophy is that it wears off during the day and you need the control most at dinner. I am trying it this way and hope that it works.
Using the half pill for 10 days allows your body to adjust to pill over time to hopefully counteract the insomnia at night.

Hope this idea helps anyone else starting out.

I started taking Adipex yesterday. I love drinking water and could down up to a gallon a day. Now I Cant keep water down, makes me extremely nauseas. And I mean to the point to heaving it up less than 5 minutes after drinking it. Also note its intake is now reduced to 4 oz or less of water intake at a time because I dont want to heave anymore. Did not take it today. Waiting on CB from Dr office. I am on the 37.5 mg pill once a day. Heard sooo much good but apparently I am not taking to it well. NOT WORTH GETTING SICK ALL DAY OVER IN MY OPINION.

I am 31, BMI 27, height 5’5″. My current weight is normally 165-175. I work out every day, drink water, eat right (my original weight before working out and eating right was 210 but have since plateaud). My doctor put me on it because the scales havent moved. I told her it was due to the strenght training and building muscle (that burns fat which is a good thing) but she wants to see the numbers drop. Go fig.

Almost in shock to the point I weighed myself like 5 times just to make sure it was right.. I do have dry mouth to the point my throat is kinda sore but I dont know if thats with the dry mouth or I’m trying to get sick? Also I felt drowsy yesterday after taking it however when I went to go work out I had a lot of energy. Feeling restless and drowsy is one of the side effects I’ve read about and heard that it should subside after the first week. But it is defenitly curbing my appetite and is clearly doing it’s job! :)

Well, I started my adipex today with a goal of 40lb weight loss coinciding with a chantix prescription to stop smoking as well… For being a long time fan of hydroxycut (which I did lose 20lbs on) I tried to stop smoking and put 10 back on almost immediately. I felt the warm sensation of the adipex and an increase in clarity. I’m really hoping this works!! My motivational bikini is lurking over my dresser mirror!

Amber April 16, 2011 at 12:38 pm

LaLa, I also get extremely tired taking it. It certainly keeps my appetite at bay though. But I drink a gallon of water it seems, I suddenly crave it! I’ve never been diagnosed but I think I may have adult adhd, things that normally give ppl energy (coffee, soda, any kind of caffeine) makes me really tired. Ppl who are not adhd get a speed high when taking concerta, ridLin (idk how to spell it) and those drugs slow down a person with adhd, they slow me down as well. So my advice would be to have your doctor check you out, or google adhd and a lot of sites give you a little self test… good luck with your weight loss

I took Adipex about a year ago and this side affect was one of mine. I ended up with kidney stones because I had dehydrated myself because I never drank any or small water or juice. My doctor said you have to push yourself to stay hydrated but the pill did work for me other than that. I lost about ten pounds in 1-2 weeks

My doctor prescribed me Adipex yesterday so, like many others, researched it before starting it today. I weight 283 lbs. and turned 37 today. My instructions were to take one a day but after reading the previous posts, I decided to only take 1/2 for a few days to see what side effects I would have. I am posting this in hopes of getting some moral support. Good luck to all and I will definitely keep reading up and posting any results. So glad I found this site and thanks!

Hi Jeannette,
I have been on so many diet and prescription before, so I just got the Adipex today as well and read your post, I don’t usually respond to posts and let alone publish posts myself but something today pushed me to do it, so good luck in your weight loss journey and a littele piece of advice take the pills as prescribed by your physician if you want to see maximum results(I had many past experiences with other things) than if you don’t like it or see results go back to see your doctor and have him take you off of it but don’t change the dosage yourself. good luck:)

Hi. I have been on adipex for almost a month now, and I am hovering between 7-9 pounds lost. I can’t seem to lose as much and I’m not sure what I am doing wrong. I try to only eat 1200 calories a day and I try to drink as much water as possible. I am also working out at least 3 days a week. What could be the problem?

Reply

Lauren April 22, 2011 at 12:13 pm

Well if you are working out you could be turning your fat into muscle. Have you measured in inches? or do you have a scale that measures body fat?

Reply

Sidnie April 28, 2011 at 8:27 am

I started taking it about 3 weeks ago & I work out regularly and have tried to change my eating habits but mine make me not hungry at all. to the point i eat maybe once a day.. if i’m lucky.

if you are working out hardcore, Lauren is right. Fat does turn to muscle.
I suggest more frequent cardio excerises. I try to minimize my workouts to 2 miles running a day or walking the block for an hour or so. & some kind of ab workout afterwards. I weighed in yesterday and found out I have officially lost 21 pounds.

Toni May 29, 2011 at 8:26 pm

Could be that you aren’t taking in enough calories for your weight also. You should ask your doctor or dietitian how many calories you need to lose weight. You might be surprised that you need more than 1200. Hope this helps!
I started Adipex a week ago, and I am tired a lot too. I also wondered if I may have adult ADHD. Caffeine and all that has always had the opposite affect on me.
Good luck all!

Hi Toni..

I was prescrived Adipex yesterday at the doctors office. I was wondering about your comment about ADHD. I have ADD..do you think that the Adipex will slow me down or speed me up? I don’t know!

Thanks for your input!

Hi, I was on Adipex for a month, I lost 4 pounds and I think that was by accident. I took it exactly as prescribed and the only thing the medication did was make me tired and fall asleep. I even took it at night so I would not feel so tired during the day. So I don’t know what to do about losing weight. I do have to say that the drug gave me dry mouth and did help me portion down, but nothing of energy. Pretty sad huh. Good luck to everyone else that is taking this, I know that the results can be wonderful, just not for me.

Sometimes you have to push yourself harder. If you dont feel like working out then workout anyway. You will feel better afterwards! Some ppl get the preception that this pill requires little effort. If your motivated to reach your goal you can do it! It made feel sleepy too but instead of going to sleep I turned my ipod on and got on the elliptical. Dont give up!

I started Adipex in January and I lost a little over 20 pounds in the first two months. At the third month my body has seemed to stay at the same weight… I haven’t gained or lost anything? Is there anything i can do to start losing weight again…

Reply

Amber April 16, 2011 at 12:41 pm

Stop taking It for a few months. Diet and exercise and possibly try phenterprill, its not the same. Anyway after a few months get back on the adipex. It’s not meant for long term use, a lot of ppl only lose weight the first 2 weeks.

Christina April 7, 2011 at 1:10 am

I started tAking adipex about a week ago. I had high blood pressure in January but I lost 20 lbs on my own. Then my bp was fairly normal. I got impatient with my weight loss and decided to go on adipex. The first 2 days I had absolutely no appetite. I had to force myself to eat. I quit drinking all caffeine and I’m still on my 1,100 calorie diet. The first 3 days I lost 3 lbs. I haven’t lost any sense then. My appetite is pretty much back but I stick to my diet. I have horrible drymouth but that is managable with gum and lots of water. Constipation is also an issue. My question however is am I not going to lose anymore weight with this pill? I read that adipex quits working eventually and has no effect because your body develops a tolerance to it. Any ideas? And I’m also worried my bp will be high again bcuz of the adipex and they will not give me a perscription for a second month. If anyone could share any experiences with their bp and weight loss it would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on your weight, 1100 us totally insufficient, unless your doctor recommended it. In which case I would still be a little wary because that is really reaaaaally low. You cannot stop taking Adipex cold turkey, since it is a narcotic and side effects could be worse than you may have expected. You should also be required to go in monthly for a blood pressure and weight to be taken on you at your doctor’s. If the blood pressure thing is an issue, I am sure the doctor will prescribe something that he sees fit for you.

Yea in Ohio you have to go every month for 3 months to get a new script then ur off for 6 then back on for 2 then off completely. I now weigh 160. I’m only 5′ 1″ though. How many calories should I eat a day?

Christina,
I started taken Adipex about 8 months ago. I weighed in at 192lbs @ 5′, I had penuemonia six times in 2 yrs. All the steroids I had to take put weight on me. I can promise it was not from eating. My mouth had so many blisters, all I could stand in it was fat free milk. I just kept gaining weight. I now weigh 140lbs. I am still taken Adipex, but the weight loss has slowed. I am more hungry than normal. But, I am hanging in there. One more thing, long as you are contispated. You will not loose weight. My doctor said, we carry 25lb’s of feces in the colon. I have to take Mira-Lax due to taken pain meds long term for IC (bladder diease) Give it some time and buy some Mira-Lax at WalMart. But only if you suffer from chronic contispation or IBS with contispation. Lena

Hello Adipex community,

My doctor prescribed Adipex to me today. I did my research and I plan on starting the pill tomorrow (April 9, 2011). Hopefully, I will remember to update you guys on how it goes. I am hopeful and prayerful the pill will give me the jumpstart I need. I am currently on a 1200-1300 diet with only water for my beverage. I also work out three times a week for an hour. I am currently 224 at 5′ 2″. Good luck to everyone and thanks for sharing your stories!

I started taking adipex yesterday. I take it at 7am and feel great. It gives me energy and I don’t feel hungry. I took the whole pill and feel some jitters and dry mouth as well. I have a headache but it may be from quitting coffee cold turkey. I have friends and family that have lost lots on this pill.

Hey, I’m 21 years old, and I have a 39 month old boy and a 19 month old girl. Yes that’s right, 2 beautiful babies in less than 2 years. Not such beautiful results to my body though. lol. Before I had my kids I weighed between 95 and 110 lbs. (I’m 4 ft 11 so that’s normal) and if i happened to gain weight, it was way easy to lose. Now after 2 kids it was not coming off at all. My Dr watched me for a few months and realised even after strict diet and strict exercise, no weight was coming off. She prescribed me Adipex. Wonderful thing! I love it, but I do not take it according to the directions. Here is my way of taking it, and others who i know have started it this way and it works great for them as well when it did not before.
As you may know, Adipex can form a bit of an addiction when taken for a period of time. As you may also know, Adipex works great (for most not all) the first week or 2. Then weight just comes off slow or not at all. So what I do is for 1 to 2 weeks, I take it regularly. Weight comes off great! I lost 20 lbs my 1st week on it! I was scared at first thinking it was way way to much in 2 weeks. My Dr assured me it was OK that i was still in great condition and it just seemed to work faster on some than others. So then after those 1 to 2 weeks, I quit. I stop taking it for about 2 weeks, then start back for a week or so. Keeping a good diet in between the weeks i do and don’t take it. Its like its a new med again to my body and works just as great as my 1st two weeks on it when I do it this way, and also with the 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, it is not habbit forming to me. I have 10 more lbs to lose then i will be happy to put it down. Mainly because of lack of sleep, and the relaxed feeling it gives me right after i take it. I cant stand either. I am very happy with the results. Other ppl i know do not like their results of it though. But its just like every other med. It has diff effects on diff people. If it don’t work for you, don’t be discouraged. Try something else! You will find what you need! Good Luck to all!

Hi, I’m 23 years old. I’m 5’2 and weighed in Friday April 8th at 233lbs.I was supposed to start taking 1/2 pill for the first four days starting Saturday (and there after a whole one after breakfast and never take on an empty stomach, and never take in the afternoon.), but I got curious and took a 1/2 pill at 5pm. 30 mins after taking the pill I noticed I had this awesome burst of energy, not overwhelming, but just what I needed. I didn’t go to bed until 3am. Although I could have fallen asleep at 10:30, which is when the energy started to slack off. I ended up taking a 1/2 pill in the morning and then taking another 1/2 after luch totalling a whole for the day. My doctor informed me that it would decrease my appetite, give me energy, and I would experience the dry mouth. I do experience dry mouth about 45 mins after I take it but quickly goes away after I drink a bottle of water. My appetite is decreased which makes it much easier to stick to my strict diet which includes only water to drink. Since Friday I have lost 2lbs, and I haven’t really exercised. I’ve just been cleaning my house like crazy. Today is the first day I decide to take a whole pill at once this morning. I got the same amount of energy from the whole as I did the half but now I don’t have another 1/2 to take after lunch when I feel like I could really use another burst of energy. I also have this huge urge to smoke cigarettes more often than normal. On the first and second day I experienced diarrhea. But now I’m experiencing constipation. It’s not to bad though. I’m drinking like 8 bottles of water a day to help myself stay hydrated and full, so I probably weigh less than I think which I weighed in this morning (after I drank a bottle of water) at 231lbs. I drank another bottle and gained half a pound… so with the amount of water I’m drinking I’m sure it has some affect on my weight. Good luck with everyone’s diet. If you want to ask me any questions, feel free!

So I’ve been taking Adipex for two weeks now going on three this Monday and I’m down 16lbs.. Adipex has been working great for me. It decreases my appetite and I have energy the whole day. I work out between 3-4 days a week and stick to my 1100-1200 calorie diet as best as I can. I hope I continue to see results despite people saying that your body gets used to it and you won’t see any results after a while. But to Alexis have you asked your doc if it was ok for you to stop taking it for two weeks and then start back up? Because according to my doc and walgreens (who filled my prescription) you can not stop taking the pill for more than a week and if you do you must stop taking it for 6 months before you start taking it again.. So I was wondering If your doc approves that?

I started Adipex on April 2nd with half pills for the first 4 days and whole pills after that. I take it in the morning on an empty stomach and then I’m just not hungry for the entire day. I’m really having to force myself to even eat at all, and often I’m just not. I may make it to about 5 pm and then eat a piece of fruit because I know I should have something, but I feel plenty satisfied with that. I usually have a terrible chocolate “itch” that needs constant scratching, but I’m finding that I’m not having any cravings: I’m also not eating because I’m lonely/bored/stressed etc. The urge to turn to food for comfort is gone. I do have a terrible dry mouth so I drink as much water as possible and I did have trouble sleeping the first 2 nights, but now I have no problem. I’ve been running a few times since I started it and I feel great. The dry mouth has certainly been the worst part and it is well worth the results I’ve had and the way I feel.

Jess,

I have ad the SAME exact experience as you. I startd Adipex on March 24. I started at 174lbs. and am now 154lbs. I also was comfort eating due to lonely/bored/stressed. I have been forcing myself to eat but am maintaining a strict small diet packed with fruits and veggies and I boil a chicken breast for dinner only twice a week. My whole outlook on food is completely different. You seem to be the only person who mirrors the same experience I have – keep up the new outlook and good luck.

Since I quit smoking I started to gain alot of weight just after I lost 20 pounds and 30 inches having a personal trainer. I was so depressed from the weight gain my doctor put me on adipex to control my appetite. At first I couldnt sleep and was extremely moody. The side effects almost too much I was ready to stop adipex.I only lost 5 pounds my first month maybe because I was anibiotics for a really bad sinus infection.I decided to keep going I figure the side effects was worth it if I could just lose the weight. Well I keep getting sick think my immune system is really down from not eating I dont eat hardly at all. All day and still only lost a total of 8 pounds in over 2 months. Is it because Im retaining water from sinus infection or what ? I also workout.Im getting really discouraged about adipex. I am tired too all the time.Dont know if its worth it.

Helena, your step dad is either being badgering to make you lose the weight OR just want to be critical. All I can say is keep up the good work on working on your weight for YOU and when you start looking thin, his mouth will DROP just like anyone else who is criticizing you now in your face or behind your back. I was 233lbs and dropped to 175 looking great and sexy using Adipex. So many people that criticized me couldn’t say nothing and they felt like an idiot. Later, some started saying I must be getting sick. So…there you have it, you win and people still try to make you feel low regardless. YOU GO GIRL! Keep your head up and keep doing you…never stop! I love myself and my haters! :-)

By the way, I’ve been maintaining my weight and is currently back on Adipex after 3 years to go down to my doctors suggested weight of 150lbs. Here comes more haters…I’m all for it!

I started taking adipex on Monday 5/2 as of today 5/4 I lost 3 1/2lbs. I have a ton of energy, I drink plenty of water, I use to drink coffee every morning but of course I had to give that up. I started working out 30mins a day I will try to do a 15min walk before work then when I get home I do my 30min workout. My suggestion is to not limit yourself to 2/3days a week, carido I will do everyday until you get to your goal that way it become a habit. I will follow up with my weight loss I plan to weigh myself again in a week.

Started my Adipex this morning with a half pill. So far I just feel sleepy – which I wasn’t expecting, but from reading other comments is not unusual – and a little jittery – which I was expecting. I have a touch of dry mouth, but as I am a big water drinker I think I can control that.
I’m starting my journey at 5′ 5″ and 228 lbs, I usually hover right at 220 lbs, no matter what I tried (lose it, gain it, gain it, lose it) but gained weight when I quit smoking 4 1/2 weeks ago (yay me, I’m still celebrating that particular victory!) I turned 40 a few months back and decided enough was enough and it was time to remake myself, hence quitting and setting out to lose weight and revamping not only what I eat but my whole way of thinking about food. It may be a tough order, but I can no longer mamby-pamby myself along and expect things to just happen because I WANT them to happen. I have been my own worst enemy and now it’s time to become my own biggest cheerleader.
I look forward to reading everyone’s posts and wish the best for everyone setting out on a similar journey.

hi all! i really want to try adipex, but i have hypertension due to polycystic ovaries. i’ve done the low-carb thing, but get soooo bored that i cheat and then it’s all over. my dr’s tell me to exercise and lose weight, but it’s seriously oneof the hardest things ever with PCOS. i am getting married in 4 months and am desperate to try this stuff. is there anyone else out there that has PCOS and is taking adipex? you guys have all given me hope that this really works!!

nancy – i am with you, i just left the dr and he gave me a script for this. I have fought PCOS for 15 years and done Weight Watchers, and everything else. I am willing to try this myself and hopefully this will jump start me. PCOS is so hard for people to understand, but i hate having an excuse too……HOpefully we both will find the results we are looking for!!!

nancy – manda- i am in the same boat as you all I was diagnosed 2 years ago with PCOS i have tried weight watchers and low carb but those are just so hard to stick too. I have had Adipex once before for a month and i lost 20 lbs just by taking the pill i had to force my self to eat once a day because i just was not hungry.. then for exercise i would walk to my classes on my college campus and every now and then play sports just for fun nothing to intense . the clinic i went to changes doctors frequently so the next month the new doctor wouldnt write me the script.. I am home for the summer now and i had to change doctors once again and this clinic policy is not to give adipex. but since i have Pcos and i had a history with good results on it, the doctor told me she would have no problem giving it to me because of how much the weight loss will help my condition

Guys and Gals,

I have been reading a few comments and questions about the usage of Adipex… I used it about a year ago and lost 40lbs in a month… Here are some tips:
Drink Plenty of Water *Even when you not thirsty”
Cardio, Cardio, Cardio…. No weights!!! Not until you reach your goal..
Eat 5 to 6 times a day…. Stay away from Mcdonalds… Subway worked for me.
After eating dinner, stay up 2 hours before going to bed….
Eat majority of your carbs in the morning, and keep track of your calorie intake.
DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF EVERYDAY..WEIGH YOURSELF ONCE A WEEK….
If you must have a soda, limit yourself to 1 a day…Consume at or before lunch…..
DO NOT THINK THAT STARVING YOURSELF WILL MAKE YOU LOSE WEIGHT!!!!! Your body will retain everything you consume because it does not know when you will feed it again…. That’s why its important to eat on a consistent schedule so your body will intake what it needs and release the waste.. Please do not starve yourself….

I hope that this information helps you all. IF you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to send me an email at rowdychiasson@yahoo.com

I started my Adipex on 5/23/2011 at 194 pounds. It has been a week now and I am 183 pounds. I have exercise for 30 minutes each day and I have stopped all carbs. My mouth have been very dry lately but I drink plenty of water. Since taking the pills I have not had an appetite at all. I have to force myself to eat. I am amazed at how much weight I’ve lost in one week. Losing weight is not easy, we all CAN do it….everybody stay focused and take one day at a time.

I began my journey on Monday May 23, 2011. My starting weight 214, im 5ft 6in and 34 yrs old. I just had a complete hysterectomy on Feb. 1, 2011 which was the start of becoming a new me. I always have had a weight struggle especially after my 3d daughther. (now 9)But, prior to my hysterectomy I was at a stand still at attempting to lose. After hysterectomy, even with watching my calories very closley due to the inability to excersise for a while, my weight was going up. So last week I went to my family doc. he said part of it was being on Amitriptyline, which I had been on for a long time.He said it is known to make women gain and hold weight. Not good, I thought.Secondly he said the hysterectomy took my already slowed metabolism and put it at a complete stop. That was not incouraging to me..lol So he took me off that med. and said we need to jump start your metabolism. He said I was already doing one right thing, watching my calories. 1400 per day. Now lets get your body into gear. I started excersising 30 min a day as of Monday May23. and started Adipex on Sat. May 28th. I weighed in yesterday at 208, already. HOORAY! For the first time in a very long time I saw progress. My big hope is to at least get back into the size 18 dress pants i wore prior to my surgery. I know thats not a lot to some but I am still wearing maternity pants I bought to be comfortable while recovering and dresses. So it’s a baby step and I will be excited to see it!!!

Started adipex yesterday. Starting weight 193, I am a waitress, I took a whole pill yesterday @ 9:a.m and by work(started at 4) I was constantly messing up, and feeling sick. I also had a horrible headache and dry mouth. Took half a pill today, hope this works out better. I’m tired of being fat!

I am 64 and very healthy except over-weight. This is my second time trying Weight Watchers and in 4 months lost only 2.4 pounds even working and going to Curves 3 x a week! I have been working at a garden center using my pedometer and found I was walking anywhere from 3 miles to 7.75 miles per day and still no weight loss. Was put on Adipex on May 31st. Have definite dry mouth – haven’t weighed to see if I am losing yet but appetite is mostly down. I was ready to totally give up the fact I could lose. Hoping this works – shouldn’t have to spend 75% of my life thinking about food, what I can have and can’t have and what my weight is! Good luck everyone!

I went to the dr on June 1, 2011 concerned about my weight…since a close person to me died I’ve ate to deal with my greif anyways I gained 80 pounds since 2008. So my dr put me on adipex…I weighed 196.6 when I was weighed June 1,2011 I now at this exact moment on June 6,2011 187.2 pounds! I’m so proud of myself! I walk about 19 miles a day at a brisk pace…I also drink lots of water only one soda a day and that’s when I start craving my caffibe at 11 am…no fast food no ice cream or cheese but lots of veggies and fruits:) it would be nice to get down to 118 but I will b just as happy for my BMI to b in a healthier category! By the way I’m 19

I have Been On Adipex this is going on my 3rd round cause once you are off you are on your own I have a very rare tumor on my leg that keeps me from exersizing but any way my first round on the pill start out weight was 186Pd’s got down to 154. once off the pill i gained. got back up to 176pd and stayed there but I was an emotional eater stayed hungry all the time 2ND round on the pill had to stop taken it cause I had to go back on my pain med now I’m on my third try but from experience this is only a temporary fix when you are on this pill you need to eat very important found out the hard way that my sugar dropped very low and about went into a comma. so do eat eat 6 times a day yea I know who can you loose weight like that eat every three hour I went with fruit and veggis I had One cheat day but you have to train your self cause once your off you are on your own teach your self to eat like this all the time its will be come a habit trust me I know this is my third round and I will learn to eat right just need to stay on my schedule, because cant live on this pill for ever and if you eat 1200 cal a day you will loose but not fast and you will get to your ideal weight and keep it off and when you are off the pill give your self a cheat day eat what you love just dont over do it and eat slow enjoy and drink plenty off water.thats the most important thing I hate water but thats what you need and stay away from sodas and sugary drinks good luck on you weight loss. and eat your body needs it.small portions

Hi all, I started Adipex friday June 10th, weighed today June 14th, and have lost 7.8 pounds. WOW, I am happy!! :) I also have been forcing myself to eat for fear of what will happen once my three months are over on this pill. My goal is to loose about 80 pounds, One day at a time for me. The only side effect I have had is dry mouth, so I am drinking tons of water. I will be praying for you all to have victory over your weight issues. God bless! :) Starting weight was 284 I am 5’10. I would love to be just under 200.

Okay – starting my third week of Adipex – lost 6 pounds so far but have to tell you – I AM HUNGRY! My stomach is growling when I wake up and at different times of the day. What’s up with that? I have to drink lots of water due to the dry mouth. Daily exercise has been yard work – lots of it!

I have been having the same problem! This is my4th day on the medicine. My starting weight was 192.2, and today I weighed 189. But I think anyone that cuts back eating as much as I have would lose the same amount, I don’t think the medicine is actually doing anything. I think it’s just me thinking it’s going to be some miracle drug, so I’m starving myself. My stomach growls ALL the time!!! I feel so hungry, and I just ignore it. That isn’t the medicince, it’s ME! I’m worried that this isn’t going to help at all and I’ve had my hopes up for nothing :(

I started Adipex 37.5 on Tuesday, June 14th. I am 5’4, my start weight is 169. So far in one week & one day I have lost 9 pounds. I am not hungry so I too have to force myself to eat. Making better choices more fruits & veggies. I stay thirsty, forcing myself to drink water all day. I hate to exercise & know I need to especially to keep the weight off. My goal weight is 130.

So I’d always fluctuated between 120lbs and 145lbs until I married and had a baby. My norm a 5’6″ was 170lbs. Although chunky I still looked good. 19 months ago my husband died and I stopped eating and sleeping. I weighed 155lbs in three months. When I started eating again everything I consumed went to storage as if my body were preparing for my next assault. I didn’t realize i was packing pounds till my 4 year old daughter joked that I had no bones…as in I’m squishy fat. Thanks kid. I went to my Dr who put me on a strict diet/exercise plan. In another two months I had lost a whopping 1.5 lbs. Last Monday I weighed 197.5lbs. I started taking 1/2 adipex tablet Monday and felt great! Same for Tues and Wed. Today I weighed myself at 189.2lbs, was super thrilled, and decided to take a whole pill. Around noon today I started having SCARY breathing problems like I couldn’t catch my breath! My Dr stated to go back to 1/2 pill and definately not cold Turkey it but I’m still having these bouts. Has anyone experienced a symptom like this?! I would love to loose weight but not at the risk of leaving my daughter orphaned! Does this pass? Advice please!

Hey kmom – Sorry for your loss. As for your breathing problem no I have not had that experience. If the half pill is working for you, then I would just keep on taking halves, as long as your dr okays it. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

I purchased adipex a few days ago. I wanted to know if it really works I’m 5’7″ and weigh 190lbs….. I want to lose 25lbs in 5 wks is this possible? I work out moderately so I was wondering if I could get down to 165 in five weeks.

That’s not a bad start, especially if you don’t have a lot to lose. What is your diet like? Cut out processed foods that contain a lot of sodium as this makes you retain water. A lot of people read the pre-packed things and think oh it’s low cal, but really it’s full of salt and chemicals. Don’t eat that stuff.

Thanks for your reply. I have about 30 lbs to shed and I have lost another pound this week. It’s funny you should mention packaged foods because I eat a lean cuisine at least once or twice a day. I am so busy with work and school that I don’t cook (nor do I really know how) so I thought the lean cuisine would be a great choice. Now I am starting to seriously rethink that one…

I have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks with Phentramin D! If you can’t get adipex I would totally reccommend phentraminD. It really seems to work well. Wish I had done this sooner. I am drinking lots of water and eating lots of veg too.

I came here looking for adipex but I guess you can’t order it online anymore. I ordered phentramin D and I am excited and hope I can lose as much as all you folks! :)

I stopped eating meat (except seafood) and bread I have lost 18 lbs in a month with Phentramin D. I have not felt this good in years. I find that all the meat these days is full of hormones and weird shit that animals are being fed. Don’t want that in my body anymore.
