PhenELITE is a non-prescription dietary supplement designed for “extreme weight loss & appetite suppression.” It is marketed as a fat burner and appetite suppressant. The claim is that it encourages fast fat burning, appetite suppression, and provides more energy and concentration. All of its benefits supposedly help a person to lose weight safely at a faster than normal rate, with weight loss occurring within 4 – 6 weeks.

PhenELITE Proprietary Formula

The PhenELITE formula contains a propriety blend that consists of:

  • Raspberry Ketone
  • African Mango Extract
  • Acai Fruit
  • Green Tea Extract
  • Resveratrol
  • Caffeine Anhydrous
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Kelp
  • Grapefruit

Other non-active ingredients include gelatin, calcium, carbonate and magnesium stearate.

You may or may not have noticed that this product contains many ingredients that are found in similar diet pill formulas. Each ingredient has been touted for its beneficial effects on weight loss, with some being considered ideal for fat burning and metabolism boosting while others are touted for their abilities to promote mental alertness and focus or to suppress appetite.

A Closer Look at the Ingredient Benefits

An example of the benefits are that green tea extract, raspberry ketone and caffeine anhydrous are all believed to help burn fat by speeding up metabolism. Additionally, green tea extract, raspberry ketone and acai berry are antioxidants, which is beneficial for overall health, while caffeine anhydrous may also produce appetite suppressant effects in some people.

Another major player in the PhenELITE formula is African Mango (also known as Irvingia Gabonensis). This ingredient supposedly helps with weight loss by lowering appetite, blood cholesterol and triglycerides as well as reduces fat cell growth, increases the breakdown of fats and improves blood sugar control. That said, to date, there have been no decent quality trials to demonstrate the efficacy of African mango as a weight loss aid.

The key takeaway from the supposed benefits of these ingredients is that in spite of all of the claims that have been made about each of them, there is no clinical proof that they are beneficial, safe or effective for weight loss. In other words, there is no guarantee that anyone who takes PhenELITE will lose weight.

An Energy Boost that May Cause Jitters for Some

PhenELITE contains caffeine anhydrous as well as green tea (which contains caffeine). Moreover, since it is part of a blend, there is no knowing how much of these ingredients exist in the 1,200 mg proprietary formula.

That being the case, while caffeine may provide a boost of energy, which could be beneficial to helping you keep up with your workouts, it can also increase the risk of certain unpleasant side effects.

Some of these effects may include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Jitters
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Mood swings
  • Insomnia

People, who have sensitivities to caffeine, or any other ingredient in the formula, as well as pregnant or nursing mothers, should avoid taking this diet pill. Individuals with pre-existing medical conditions or who are currently taking medications should consult with their medical practitioners before taking this product.

Other Considerations

The manufacturer recommends that users take 1 or 2 capsules 30 minutes prior to meals with 8 ounces of water for best results. It is also recommended for users to take this product in conjunction with a “sensible” exercise and diet program.

At the time this review was written, one bottle of PhenELITE costs $14.99. Each bottle contains 60 capsules, a one month supply. However, it should also be pointed out that this product was available for purchase on Amazon and not the manufacturer’s site. There was no official product page for this weight management aid. This could be an indication that this diet pill may soon become unavailable as it may have been discontinued or it could be in the process of being rebranded.

Nonetheless, if you still wish to try it, remember that it is recommended that you first consult with your healthcare provider prior to taking any dietary supplements or weight loss pills.
