PhenPhast is a dietary supplement from NaturaPrime designed for rapid weight loss. It is marketed as an alternative to phentermine. The claim is that it is a thermogenic that will boost metabolism, enhance focus, and increase energy levels, as well as provide appetite suppression.
At the time this review was written, PhenPhast did not have an official website. It was sold on Amazon for $23.99. Unfortunately, all the claims made about this product, including its abilities to suppress appetite, boost energy, increase metabolism and enabling users to lose 15 pounds or more safely and rapidly, are unsubstantiated. The statements made about PhenPhast are not supported by clinical trials.
That being said, event without such trials, one can learn a lot from a diet pill by analyzing its ingredients. In the case of PhenPhast, its formula consists of the PhenPhast Advanced Complex which is made up of a 1,000 mg per serving of L-Carnitine, L-Ornithine, L-Arginine, L-Glutamine, Tyrosine, Tryptophan, Beta-Alanine, GABA, Hoodia, Chromium, African Mango, Grapefruit Powder, Green Tea Leaf Extract, EGCG, Glycyrrhizin Extract, Panax Ginseng, Gymnema Sylvestre, Coleus Forskohlii, Astragalus, Maca Powder and Grape Seed Extract.
PhenPhast contains L-Carnitine and green tea, which may help to burn fat and boost energy. That said, these ingredients are not as powerful thermogenics as caffeine is, for example, which is not included in this formula. Furthermore, it has Glycyrrhizin extract, which can help to lower body fat. That being said, this ingredient is also known to cause water retention. As for appetite suppression, the formula contains hoodia, gymnema sylvestre, coleus forskholii, chromium and African mango. All of these ingredients are believed to help reduce cravings.
Be that as it may, it is important to point out that none of the ingredients in PhenPhast have ever been clinically proven safe or effective for weight loss. Therefore, it is unlikely that this product will help a person lose weight.
As for side effects, PhenPhast doesn’t seem to be linked to any serious adverse effects. It contains only a small amount of caffeine in the green tea, which, on the plus side, means that this dietary supplement is unlikely to cause any stimulant-related side effects, such as insomnia, jitters, anxiety, etc. That being said, it does contain diuretics and other ingredients that may not be ideal for long-term use.
To be on the safe side, it would be wise to first speak with your healthcare provider before taking PhenPhast.
The recommended dose is to take two pills, once daily, with an eight ounce glass of water.
